Unchanging over the years
Moments of calm are rare
Moments of confusion are more
It never ceases even during the sleep…
How ridiculous a life to be let down
By trivial thoughts and mundane feels
You hold on to tomorrow but let go of the real
Reality knocks every day, you never let her in…
She spreads her wings and lodges in;
Still you try to run from her.
She doesn't force herself on you
She allows you your space
Your little life stuck in a haze
That’s when the mind spaces change
They undergo a catharsis of shame
Bewildered you seek refuge in sleep
But sleep’s an ally and only makes you meek
Seeking and meeking you reach the cornerstone of life
A river calms you down much more than you could in years
That’s when you understand how trivial you are and…
How grand everything else is.
From that grandness erupts a silent volcano of knowledge
Only subtle enough for the subtlest,
Lest you grab it with both hands
It makes no sound while gushing – your senses have again failed you at
the most crucial time.
But you never lose hope
Speaking of which, they say hope is what sticks the world together
But it must be ironic as hope isn't that hopeful herself
So, how is it that others have put their faith on her so
wholeheartedly?
That is a lesson no one teaches
Specially not your parents and your teachers
They themselves have not found any answers to it,
And yet feet that they know something about it.
Humans are a species so full of potential
But they are more full with self-doubt
That’s probably nature’s way of ensuring that they don’t start
believing that the are really the true masters of the cosmos
Bu then as humans believe anything that is absurd
They also believe anything that is a fleeting memory.
